GET TO KNOW KAREN
For over 45 years, my career spanned science education, youth development, non-profit leadership, robotics, program outreach, charitable fund and grants management, culminating with Executive Director of the Lake Wentworth Foundation here in Wolfeboro. Over these decades, I lived in 12 different New Hampshire communities, allowing me to truly understand and appreciate the unique qualities of our diverse towns.

My roots here run deep. As a Navy "brat," Tuftonboro was my childhood anchor, where I spent summers along Wawbeek Shore, with both sets of grandparents'. I also treasure the eight years I attended Camp Weetamoe on Ossipee Lake. And between years at UNH, I waitressed at Bald Peak.

Giving back is central to my life. It started with my grandparents' and parents' active support of Abenaki Tower and Trail Association in Tuftonboro. My volunteer work spans dozens of organizations. This year I am serving as a lake host at Wolfeboro's Back Bay, on the Tuftonboro Old Home Days Committee, and recently reviewed grants for the US EPA.

On a personal note, I am the proud parent of two children—a writer for the Boston Globe and a head college coach—and grandmother to three. My late husband and I were married in the Melvin Village Community Church. He was a forecaster with the New England Weather Service in Center Harbor and then a TV meteorologist at WNNE in White River Junction, VT and WMUR in Manchester, NH .
This is my second time running for the House, and I am excited to bring my deep community ties and decades of experience to represent you in District 7.
